In March already, the wind park developer and operator wpd has begun with the construction of two smaller-scale wind farm projects in Poland. The S?upca wind farm (4.8 MW, Enercon E82 and E53) is situated in the voivodship of Greater Poland, the Czy?ewo wind farm (6 MW, Gamesa G90) in the voivodship of Lebus. Both parks are to be connected to the grid in summer.
“We are happy to be able to finance, construct and operate the first wind farms in Poland now. This means that wpd’s long-term engagement abroad is paying off in yet another country”, rejoices Dr. Hartmut Brösamle, CEO in charge. wpd’s activities in Poland are conducted via a 50 % share in DOMREL, which holds a project portfolio with more that 1,000 MW in tangible projects.
Country manager-in-charge Markus Jansen is sure “that until the end of 2012, we will surely establish four to six projects more on a similar scale. These pilot projects will help us to professionally implement larger wind parks which are projected on a mid-term basis.”
