The team of the wpd offshore solutions is specialized in the worldwide development and realization of offshore wind projects with broad expertise in project development, permit and implementation planning, project management, quality control and the supervision of construction and installation.

Permit Manager and Environmental and Social Expert (m/f/v)

Your position

We are looking for an established professional for our permit team who will also support us with his/her expertise regarding Environmental and Social Management Systems. As a Permit Manager and Environmental and Social Expert (m/f/v) you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • You will obtain all needed approvals and permits for our given projects.
  • Moreover, you are responsible for prioritizing the effect of requested topics on our respective projects and making decisions on ecological issues and requirements.
  • You will consult and communicate with internal and external experts and authorities.
  • Also, you will support the development and implementation of an Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS), aligned with international standards (e.g. Equator principles and IFC standard) in our offshore projects.
  • You will implement parts of the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) and the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for the respective offshore wind projects ,especially according to IFC PS6 standard.
  • You will interact with Lenders Environmental and Social Advisors (LESA) and closely align and cooperate with wpd’s Senior Environmental and Social Experts.

Your profile

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in a discipline such as environmental science, environmental engineering or similar and preferably a Master’s degree in a technical environmental discipline (including one of the following: air, water, noise, ecology).
  • You are experienced in permit management, ideally in offshore wind or other energy projects, as well as in applying international environmental and social standards to projects in the renewable energy sector.
  • Furthermore, you have well-developed reporting skills with regards to environmental and social impact assessments and management plans.
  • You are fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking)
