Metocean Manager (m/f/d)

Your position

As Metocean Manager (m/f/d) you will take over the following tasks:

  • Your main responsibility is the purchasing and preparation of the meterological and hydrographic data required for the development and execution of offshore wind farm projects.
  • In doing this, your support is required for the optimisation of the hydrodynamic data set used for the load analysis of the support structure for offshore wind turbines.
  • With respect to the execution and construction phase you are analysing the metocean and meteological data with regards to the workability of installation vessels, evaluate limits of use for vessels and define the measuring systems.
  • In the course of puchasing the metocean data for the offshore wind farm projects you are responsible for the invitation to tenderers, bid evaluation, time schedule and reporting as well as the budget for these studies.
  • You are assisting for selecting and evaluating necessary measurement equipment and installation locations.
  • Furthermore, you are supporting the certification process of the metocean reports and are the first contact point for the project team in respect of any metocean topics.

Your profile

  • You have a Master Degree or higher in the Physical Geoscience field such as Ocean Geography, Coastal Engineering or Civil Engineering with a focus on the Hydrodynamic Study.
  • In addition, you have a background or experience in the set-up, design, implementation and validation of numerical coastal hydrodynamic modelling and analysis of model results.
  • Preferably, you have working experience in the offshore wind industry.
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English with excellent communication skills and proficiency in Project Management techniques (scheduling, planning, control, reporting).
  • Moreover, you are proficient in the use of MS Office with experience in oceanographic data mining and post processing programming tools such as Python, Matlab or others.
  • You are passionate to contribute to the renewable energy transition, especially wind energy.
