Spain is a market with numerous special features: different laws for permit approval processes for wind power projects exist in each of the 17 autonomous regions. Almost all of them are based on the competitive procedure and they envisage industrial plans and generating jobs through major investments from other sectors. In addition, there is also a national law that regulates the annually connected number of MW which envisages a share of 40,000 MW from wind power by 2020.

The wpd group maintains two offices in Almería and Valladolid within Spain. We are planning a total of about 900 MW in the long-term pipeline.
