A law about subsidising renewable energies exists in Romania since 2008. A quota regulation is being implemented to raise the share of renewable energies in power production from 10 % in 2011 to 16 % in 2020.The subsidy takes place via ‘green’ certificates. In Rumania in 2011, a total of 520 MW has been installed newly, thus bringing the installed total capacity to 982 MW.
