For years, the Greek energy policy has put a strong emphasis on renewable energies – especially after the last change of government in 2009. Further development aim: In the year 2020, the share of renewable energies is to be at 20 %. To reach this aim, 1,200 MW would have to be installed per year. The long-running authorisation procedures, often criticised, pose no easy obstacle which, however, could be overcome again and again.

In Greece, there is a feed-in tariff, which is fixed by law and which has provided for ever increasing remunerations during the last years.

Since 2006, wpd has closed a cooperation in Greece with a local developer. With this local project developer, we are working on two selected regions. The projects are at an early to medium planning stadium.
