Strong economic growth ensures good underlying conditions in Chile. The market has certainly been characterised by the heavy dependence on fossil fuels and gas up to now, as well as by problems with supply from Argentina.

The law on renewable energies came into force in 2008. A quota system regulates the feed-in of regenerative energy since then.

Wind turbines with an output of about 205 MW are installed in Chile at the moment.

The wpd group maintains a head office in Santiago de Chile through its subsidiary of wpd Chile S.A. We are developing projects in Chile with a rated power output of about 350 MW at the moment.
