Up to now the wpd group has been active in Canada exclusively in the Province of Ontario as it is the only province with a fixed feed-in tariff system similar to the German system.

The basic legal framework was completely revised in 2009, so that a strong push towards renewable energies should be expected. Canada’s developmental targets envisage nearly 11,000 MW by 2018 and the creation of more than 16,000 ‘green’ jobs. A total of 5,265 MW had been installed in Canada by the end of 2011: of which 1,969 MW were in Ontario.

The wpd group has maintained its own office in Mississauga (Toronto) since May 2009. We will begin implementing projects from 2012 onwards. We are planning 210 MW in Canada over the medium and long terms.
