Project construction / Implementation
wpd takes on the project management for the complete wind farm and coordinates the construction work with all those involved. For example with the turbine suppliers, the heavy load forwarding companies, all the relevant authorities, the land-owners and managers of the land.
Our experienced construction engineers and electrical engineers are on site and take care of the design and planning of roads, power lines and foundations. At the same time, the cableworks, substations, transformer substations as well as roadworks, foundations and earthworks are put out to tender, awarded and construction management put in place. We also take over construction management in accordance with the particular state building regulations, the coordination of health and safety at work measures and we record the state of the project during every phase of construction.
At the same time we coordinate the work with grid operators and telecommunications companies, and initiate collaboration with specialist engineers such as geologists, structural engineers, inspecting engineers, archaeologists and experts for wind power systems.
Further duties include: running supervision of the schedules and budget, cost estimates and costings, checking the feasibility of road layouts and transport routes, approving the infrastructure and preparing as-completed documentation. Finally we hand over the project to the operational management.
