Development of the wind power sector in Germany continues to be a key driver for the worldwide market. The know-how and technology associated with Made in Germany are based on the home market, which is meanwhile levelling out at 1,500 MW to 2,000 MW of new installations annually after a phase of consolidation. A total of 1,551 MW had been newly installed in 2010: 27,215 MW of power output were connected to the grid at the year’s end as a result.

The wpd group will also be making an important contribution to speeding up the development of regenerative energies in Germany during the coming years. In addition to developing projects in-house, the wpd group also purchases or takes over project rights, the commercial set-up, the contractual drafting and the project’s financing until completion.
