The wpd group has been active in developing offshore projects since 2000. We implement extensive biological and technical investigations during the developmental phase of several years. The project must be adapted to the result of these investigations and it must withstand comprehensive testing and certifying requirements. Our objective is to implement an economically efficient project which receives high acceptance from local authorities, the political decision-makers and the local economy.

We are ideally positioned to meet these challenges with a specialised team and we are represented in the important offshore markets with six offices directly on site. A project developed by the wpd group with a capacity of 48.3 MW is already in operation, plus the approval of a further seven projects offering a combined total capacity of 2,800 MW. These projects will be built in partnership with financially strong market players. Our team is working overall in Germany, Sweden, Finland, France and Italy on an offshore pipeline of about 10 gigawatts.
