Over the years various countries in the Mediterranean area have introduced subsidy instruments which are similar to the German system and also offer reliable underlying conditions in addition to high solar radiation, whereas regular price reductions lead to noticeable increases in efficiency in the photovoltaics market. 

In Greece we are developing several 5 MW projects in Greece with our cooperative partners.

Italy: Three projects developed by ourselves, each with one MW, have been puting into operation in southern and central Italy during 2009. Further projects totalling about 25 MWp are in various planning phases for obtaining approval at the moment and they shall be constructed starting from 2011. Third-party quotations for projects are being checked at present in addition.

We are following the PV market with great interest in new markets where the wpd group still hasn´t been active. We check possible developments by ourselves in this connection, as well as third-party quotations for projects ranging from overseas to Eastern Europe. If our qualitative criteria are complied with and if the projects are realisable technically and economically, then we speed up their development.
